Enrollment Is Now Open for MMC’s New HVAC/BR Training Program With a Start Date in February 2023
(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) January 11, 2023 – A May 2022 ECMC Group national survey of high school students shows nearly one-third of teens would prefer their post-high school education to last two years or less and most would prefer learning hands-on skills either in a lab/classroom or through on-the-job experiences. Recognizing this trend in education, Miller-Motte College-Fayetteville (MMC-Fayetteville) has launched a comprehensive trade program in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, & Basic Refrigeration (HVAC/BR).
“We have definitely seen more students interested in pursuing a career in skilled trades like HVAC. In less than a year, our students are on the path to a steady job where they can begin making money sooner compared to other careers,” said Torris Ferguson, Executive Director of MMC-Fayetteville, part of Ancora Education network of private postsecondary schools and a leading workforce education provider. “Led by some of the industry’s top instructors, our students will graduate knowing they were taught by some of the best in the business.”
Miller-Motte College’s comprehensive HVAC/BR training program prepares students for a career as an HVAC professional through a combined classroom-style education and simulated on-the-job hands-on learning that gives students an understanding of the different types of equipment used in the HVAC/BR profession.
MMC-Fayetteville’s HVAC/BR training covers:
- Air Conditioning
- Electrical Systems
- Heating & Heat Pumps
- Refrigeration
- Technical Customer Service
- Business Communications
- Equipment Repairs
Enrollment is currently underway for the 10-month program with classes offered on a rolling basis every five weeks. The HVAC/BR training program prepares students to sit for the EPA Section 608 Technician certification.*
Of special note for students enrolling in the school’s HVAC/BR program, MMC has partnered with the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), a leading education foundation for the construction industry. As partners, MMC will incorporate NCCER’s curriculum into these new skilled trades programs.
